It was a very, Merry Christmas!

Our favorite gift this year......

sweet Claire Noelle

This is how she spent most of her 1st Christmas! Santa brought her this cute little doll & bear.

Baby's 1st Christmas

They love each other so much! (Hopefully it will always be that way!!)

Carter's new kitchen that he enjoys playing with. He cooks some incredible food!

Carter received about 15 new trains this year. He played with them for HOURS at my parents house on Christmas Day. My dad said even if he never touched them again it was worth the money spent, just with how much he played them yesterday!! But don't worry, he's been playing with them for hours today!

He also got a Click Start My 1st Computer. We set it up today & he is already a pro at it! He received a Thomas game from Grandma & Grandpa Wallace that he LOVES to play. He is really good at controlling the mouse.
We had such a nice, relaxing day & we hope yours was the same. We are grateful to have 2 beautiful children that we adore!
Claire was back at the doctor today. Since she was born she has been vomitting after feedings. The 1st week it was maybe once a day, but lately has turned into just about every feeding. I'm not talking about spitting up, this is projectile vomitting. She has had wet & poopy diapers, so I know she is getting some food, but it is worrisome, especially for the mommy! Last Thursday when she was at the dr she weighed 8lb. 13oz. & today she weighed 9lb. 3oz., so that was great news! The doctor thinks she may have reflux, but since she is gaining weight we're not going to put her on any medication & hope that she outgrows this soon. We'll just be doing LOTS of laundry & praying that she stays healthy!

Clogged ducts & First Baths

Last week Claire's right eye was green & goopy. During the night is was closed shut & she was trying so hard to open it. We took her in to the doctor & we were told that she had a clogged tear duct. We are to massage by her nose a few times a day & they also gave use some Erythromycin ointment to use. It is already looking much better!

Poor little eye!
(Claire is wearing Aunt Courtney's nightgown from when she was a baby.)

Claire's umbilical cord fell off last week so Grandma came over to give her a bath. Carter loved helping & was a big help. She seemed to enjoy the water & only cried when it was time to get out.

Sweet little girl!!

We actually caught a smile on camera!!

Claire Noelle

CLAIRE NOELLE WOZNIAK
MONDAY, DECEMBER 10, 2007
8lb. 2oz.
19 1/2"
9:09pm

So here's the story....... (it's long & I don't mind if you skip it & just look at the pictures! But I know some of my friends like to hear birth stories...)
Monday I was feeling fine. I was tired, but that was normal. We went & had Cory & Carter's haircut after lunch & while we were there I was talking to my friends Jen, telling her it was my due date, but that I thought I would have to be induced later in the week. We talked about how weird it was that she could come at anytime, but I really didn't think it was going to be any time soon.
Fast forward to about 4pm. I called my friend Lori Anne to ask her some questions about going in to labor, as she just delivered a cute little boy 5 weeks earlier. I told her that my lower back had started hurting, but knew it could hurt for a while before going into labor.
About 4:15pm my mom called & I was squatting down looking in the fridge for something. I also told her that I thought something might be happening & how my back hurt. I had a hard time standing back up & then it felt like I might be "leaking". I wondered if my water broke, but it was just a little bit of fluid.
A few minutes later Cory's sister called & I was rocking in the glider, trying to rest my back. I felt fine otherwise.
About 5pm I started having serious pain, mainly in my back, but then it was starting to hurt in my stomach, although I still didn't know if they were contractions. Since I was induced with Carter I didn't know what it was going to feel like. The pain started getting worse, to the point I couldn't talk. Cory said we better go to the hospital, but I thought they would just send us home. After a few more minutes I thought maybe we better go, so I started packing my bag. I had not done it yet! Carter was waking up from his nap about this time so we got his things together & dropped him off at my parents house about 5:45pm. I could barely walk into the house. Cory & my Dad gave me a blessing & then we were off to the hospital.
We got there about 6:20pm & walked as fast as we could to the maternity addmissions desk. They couldn't find my file & I was in serious pain. A few minutes later they put us in a triage room & they checked me. I was dilated 4-5cm. They finally found that my chart was at another hospital, so they finally got that & sent us to a Labor & Delivery room.
The contractions were so painful & they were coming one right after another. There was about a minute between each one. I kept asking for pain meds but they needed to get my iv started first.
At 7:30pm I got an epidural & then I felt great!!! I couldn't believe those same contractions were happening & I couldn't feel a thing! IT WAS WONDERFUL!!!!
I was checked again a little after 8pm (maybe closer to 8:30) and I was at a 9 1/2.
They called for the doctor on call, but she was at another hospital, so my doctor was then called & I was so happy. I really wanted him to be at the delivery.
Dr. Melchione arrived at 9pm and as the nurses were getting him dressed he said "Let's start pushing". So I pushed at 9pm & after about 4 pushes Claire was born at 9:09pm. It was so great & I was so happy!!
She is perfect in every way. She started sucking on her hands right after she was born & she still sucks on them. And now she is ready to eat, so I need to go.....
We are so HAPPY she is a part of our family!!!

Baby Update

I'm sick.....head cold, sore throat, congestion, basically not feeling really well!
I went to the doctor today for my regualr check-up & he was actually glad that I am still only 1/2 cm dilated. He put me on antibiotics to help clear up my cold & he's hoping that I don't go into labor until at least next week. He wants me to be better before I deliver the baby. I'm happy about it too. With not feeling well, I can't imagine delivering the baby & then taking care of her when I don't feel well myself! We'll see how I'm doing at my appointment next week & if I'm feeling better & am dilated more then we'll talk about inducing. (That is considering I haven't gone into labor on my own!!!). We'll keep you posted.

"I BELIEVE"

Last Saturday night we enjoyed a ride on the Polar Express. Carter had been waiting for this for over 2 months. My sister & her family joined us & it was so much fun. The story of the Polar Express was read over the speaker system & there was a man that walked around with the book & he turned the pages as it was being read. They brought us hot cocoa & cookies. We stopped at the "North Pole" (this was the halfway mark & the engine switched tracks & went to the other end of the train to bring us back). Santa was waiting at the North Pole & he came onto the train & brought each child "the first gift of Christmas", which is a bell. They asked everyone if we "believed" & all of the kids said YES!
The ride was an hour long & we are glad that we bought our tickets early. We went the 2nd day it was running & it is completly sold out for all of the other runs.
I think Carter will remember this for a long time. He has the book memorized & still talks about riding the train.
**Warning, there are lots of pictures posted, it was too hard to choose which ones to use.
