Claire's Bundt Cake Business

Claire wants to attend the horse back riding camp again this summer, and she wants to help pay for it herself. She decided to make and sell mini bundt cakes. She chose lemon with cream cheese frosting and chocolate with chocolate ganache. We posted about it on social media and Cory also brought a sign up to work. With this week off from school we thought it would be a good time to try earning some money.
Claire wanted to try & earn half of the money needed for camp, but she ended up selling over $600 in cakes, which paid for her whole camp, the supplies and she had some left over! Way to go Claire!

Happy Valentine's Day

We enjoyed a yummy dinner of a "heart" steak and salmon (for everyone but me & Kate!) and some roasted veggies. The kids really loved the chocolate covered strawberries as well. Happy Valentine's Day!

Deseret Ward Bishopric

At Stake Conference 2 weeks ago we were informed that our stake boundaries were changing and we would be going from 7 wards to 5 wards. Our Fair Oaks 4th Ward was dissolved and we were put into 3 different wards. We are now in the Deseret Ward and Paul Hedrick was called as the Bishop. Elliot Davis is the 1st Counselor and Cory is the 2nd Counselor.
I am now the Primary Secretary (my favorite calling!) and we have quite a big Primary as well. All of our kids have lots of new friends in their classes. There are many people we don't know if our new ward, but we are looking forward to meeting people and making new friends.

Honor Band Concert

During Christmas break Carter's band teacher emailed and said that he didn't get a permission slip from Carter to join the honor band. He feels that Carter is a great musician and would do well in the honor band. I asked Carter about it and he said he didn't want to join. It took a little bit of convincing, but he finally agreed to it, and now I think he is happy that he did.
The honor band was made up of students from different middle schools in the district. They practiced last Monday and Tuesday evening and this week on Monday and Tuesday from 6-9pm, with the concert this evening.
The concert was amazing. They sounded really good and it was such a fun concert.
