We're excited for some fun this holiday season. We have bought our tickets for the Trans Siberian Orchestra concert & tickets to ride the Polar Express! We can't wait!!!

First Day of Autumn, Really???

We're ready for a bit of a cool down. Doesn't look like that's going to happen in the next week!

I Love You

The past couple of weeks Carter has told me a couple of times throughout the day:

"Mommy, I love you to the moon, to the stars & back again."

It is so sweet when he says it too!

The other day I said back to him:

"Carter, I love you to the moon, the stars, to mars, to Venus, to Pluto..."

He interrupted me right there.

"Pluto's not a planet anymore Mommy!"

Fairytale Town Field Trip

We went on a field trip to Fairytale Town with Carter's pre-school class today. It was nice to ride with Kathy, Kaylee & Lauren. Once we got there it was a pretty stressful time. This must be the first time I have taken both of the kids by myself, without Claire being in a stroller. Right when we got there they started out going in different directions. I finally got Carter to stay with us & he would follow Claire & I around. At least the kids had a fun time! It didn't help that it was really HOT outside. By 11:30am we were ready to head home. I didn't get many pictures since I was chasing kids around!

Claire woke up this morning with more redness on her cheeks. It doesn't seem to bother her at all....and she still is so adorable!

Here We Go Again......

Back to the doctor with Claire! On Sunday morning when she woke up I noticed a red circle on her left upper arm that looked like a rash. Her skin didn't feel any different & she wasn't acting like it was bothering her. We headed off to church & during Nursery both of the leaders commented on her arm. I explained that I didn't know what it was; she woke up with it. I felt her arm at this point & it was very warm to the touch.

As the day progressed it starting spreading down her arm & eventually it appeared on her right arm as well. Later in the evening there were splotches of it on her legs. The redness is only on parts of her body that aren't covered with clothing. Her torso & upper legs don't have any redness. This morning I called the doctors office & make an appointment to have her looked at.

The nurse practitioner is thinking that it is a reaction she is having from the sunlight while taking amoxicillin (that she was on for pneumonia). She has been off of the amoxicillin since Friday but it is still in her system. She spent some time outside on Saturday during the soccer game & then at the playground later in the afternoon.

It doesn't seem to bother her at all & they said it should just go away on it's own. I'm hoping sooner than later! I tried taking pictures of it, but it's kind of hard to see the redness.

Brittney's Soccer Game

This morning I took the kids to watch Brittney's first soccer game of the year. The girls did really well playing, it was fun to watch them.

Kimberly, Carter & Claire had fun running around in the grass & the baseball field.

It was a weird weather day. The day prior it was over 100 degrees, but we woke up Saturday morning to find rain! It was such a nice surprise. During the game we heard lots of thunder & got a few sprinkles. Carter & Kimberly got the umbrellas out & went running around with them. At one point a big gush of wind came & blew the baseball field dirt all over the kids. They LOVED it! As we were walking back to our cars after the game the rain really came down. We got soaked, but it was fun!!

Labor Day Adventures

Jeff, Kristen & their kids came over this morning & the kids had fun playing around. After lunch we went over to the fish hatchery to feed the fish. Kristen had never been (although I don't know how, after all of these years!!!) and Jeff couldn't remember the last time he had been there. Haley, Sydney, Drew & Carter had so much fun feeding the fish. I think we'll have to go back often, especially since it only costs 5 cents to get a little cup full of fish food! We were able to go into the visitors center for a few minutes before they closed up for the day.

After the Fish Hatchery we headed over to Mom & Dad's for a Labor Day bbq. Carter swam with some of the cousins for a bit; the water was pretty cold though.

It's so nice to have holidays where we can spend the day together with family!

Fun With The Thompsons

This evening Nick, Kecia & Grayson came over for a bbq & some fun. Cory bbq'd some delicious cheese stuffed hamburgers. They were so good!! We played Phase 10 Twist & Racko.

We laughed A LOT & the boys had a lot of fun playing together. Claire was so good & went down for bed without any trouble. Sometimes when we have people over she has a hard time going to sleep when she knows we are all having fun still!

By about 10:30pm Carter & Grayson called it a night. They fell asleep on the family room floor watching Tom & Jerry!

Update On Claire

I brought Claire back to the pediatrician's office this morning just to have her checked again, since we're coming up on a 3 day weekend. They checked her lungs & said they were clear, but we're keeping her on the Amoxicillin for the full 10 days. She seems to be doing so much better & not coughing nearly as much. She's also sleeping better too!

Claire put Carter's train conductor outfit on today & she looked so cute! She loved wearing the hat & reading the train schedule cards!

After Claire was done eating dinner she had her head resting on her hand & she looked so cute. I went to grab that camera & asked her to do it again. She then started posing & was getting goofy!

Claire has pneumonia!

On Tuesday she started coughing pretty bad & that night she didn't sleep well at all. She was up from about 11:45pm to 2:30am. (which means I was up too!) On Wednesday after pre-school, Carter's friend Andrea invited us to eat lunch with them. I brought a hot dog for Claire & had it cut up in little pieces. She ate almost all of it & then a few minutes later threw it all up! It was so gross! When we got home I put her down for a nap, but she didn't sleep long before she was up coughing again. She threw up about 5 more times after that, luckily on the tile!!

I called the advice nurse at the pediatrician's office & she suggested that I bring her in, especially since we're coming up on a 3 day weekend. She's acting fine, just has a cough. Hopefully on Friday she will be doing a lot better!

The doctor listened to her chest & said she had pneumonia. They prescribed amoxicillin for her & said to bring her back in on Friday if she isn't doing better so she can be re-checked.

When we got home from the doctor office Carter came out of his bedroom & his nose was bleeding...really bad! It would not stop! I used about 10 paper towels that were covered in blood before it finally slowed down. I'm thinking it's just too dry.

Anyway, I am so ready for today to be over!!
