Trick or Treat

We went over to Clyde & Judy's house to go trick or treating this evening. Carter & Maddox were both Lego guys, Will was Indiana Jones, Claire was Cinderella & Kate was Ariel.
Judy made a delicious dinner of mummies (sausage wrapped in crescent rolls) a pumpkin that got sick (chicken for nachos) zombie (fruit & veggies), worm/Oreo cake and owl cookies. Everything was delicious!! We got to check out their brand new kitchen remodel too. It looks amazing!
We all headed out to trick or treat when it got dark & the kids got so much candy! Claire's bag is the smallest out of all our kids & she couldn't hold any more candy.
We finally called it a night & went home so the kids could get in bed for school the next day.

Twin Lakes Halloween Parade

Kate & I went to watch the older kids at their Halloween parade. I'm so glad that our school still had a parade & let's the kids dress up! We are one of the few around that does it.
Carter & his friend Daniel were so cute together. Carter had his big Lego head & Daniel was Jack, from Jack in the Box. Each class walked around the huge circle the students had made out on the blacktop. They played fun music over the loudspeaker like "Who let the dogs out?" and "Monster Mash." Fun times

Halloween 2013

Excited for another day of Halloween fun! This year we have a Lego guy, Cinderella & Ariel.

Trunk or Treat

We went to our ward trunk or treat this evening & had a great time! We had a potluck dinner & there was lots of good choices. After dinner we went out to the parking lot & the kids went trick or treating. Many families in our ward go all out with their decorations. One family brought their toy hauler & had disco lights & music inside. The kids went in to get their candy. Another family had their son dressed like a mad scientist. The dad was in a wheelchair all bandaged up & there were "patients" lying on cots. Pretty funny! We had a great time & the kids got their first "haul" of candy!

Oak Tree Makeover

We finally got our oak tree in the front of the house trimmed. The tree is massive &   was very over grown. We had Bailey Tree Company come & give us an estimate & it was $700.00. So expensive, but it needed to be done! We also had a tree stump on the side of our house that we had them remove & they only charged us $100 to do that since they were doing the tree too.
Three tree guys showed up & had the whole thing trimmed & cleaned up in a little over 2 hours. One guy was so high up in the tree, it was amazing to watch him. Now our tree looks great & you can actually see our house now! There is also a lot more light in the living room.

Pumpkin Farm With Claire

Today I was able to go on a field trip with Claire's kindergarten class to the Pumpkin Farm. The bus filled up with both classes & lots of parent volunteers, so I drove myself to the farm. I was in charge of Claire & 2 boys from her class. We went to the same farm as last year & with Carter's preschool class. We went on a hay ride, went through a corn maze & haunted house & picked a pumpkin. I'm glad I was able to go & have a fun day with Claire.

Closed Down For The Winter

Cory had a little bit of free time today so we were able to get the pool covered. The water has dropped down to the mid 60's so we knew the kids wouldn't be swimming anymore until Spring. It's kind of nice to have it covered; now I can send the kids out back to play & not have to worry about them being by the pool.

Train Ride

Todd brought his train down to Hagan Park so we took the kids over for a ride. We haven't been since last December when we rode the Santa train so it was fun to go for another ride. We happened to be there at the same time as Tom, Marci & Jack & it was neat to watch Jack point at the trains & say choo choo.
The trees were beautiful with their bright red & orange leaves. It's still been in the mid 80's so it is hard to imagine cold weather but i know it will come soon enough!
