Vacation to Mars

This morning was Carter's 3rd grade play, vacation to mars. Carter played Josh, one of the main characters & he did an amazing job!! He had fun too!! The kids learned so much about the solar system through the songs that they sang.  Carter was so happy that Daddy, Grandma, Kate & Hayden were able to come watch him.

Big Girl Bed

Kate is officially a big girl!! She got a new bed & is now out of her crib/turned day bed. She loves her new bed & has been sleeping well on it.

I asked her what kind of bedding she wanted & she said she wanted owls like Claire's bed. I decided to give her Claire's bedding & Claire went & picked out new bedding. Now everyone is happy!!

Cub Scout Blue and Gold.... dessert!

This evening was the Cub Scout Blue & Gold Dessert. It's usually a dinner but Cory decided to make it easier on everyone & did a dessert buffet. Carter received a silver arrow point & a pinewood derby badge. Fun times in Cub Scouts!! He's getting ready to move up to the Bear Pack!

Dentist Time

All 3 kids had dental appointments this morning. They all did great & sat well for the dentist. Claire has her first cavity!!! Actually, two. Sad day for her! They are on her new, six year old molars. So we will be back in a few weeks so have those fixed.

Dad's Book

I spent the last couple of months making a book about Dad's life. It took hours & hours to go through hundreds of pictures. I tried to keep it in chronological order too.

After seeing all of these pictures & remembering Dale Wallace, I know that I was blessed with the most amazing man as my father. 

Dad was so, so funny! And always quoting movies. The last 2 pages of the book are quotes that Dad used to say. All of my siblings sent me funny things that Dad said & I complied them together.

What a legacy you left Dad!

Claire's Class

I love working in Claire's class on Monday  mornings. Today was a bonus; she was the helper. She got to lead all of the morning activities: calendar, roll, pledge of allegiance, etc. It's so fun to see her take charge!

Sweet Phillip

Phillip could not be any sweeter! He is so cute & my kids love to hold him. It's so nice to have a little baby around again!

Movie Time

Since we are on vacation we are finally getting a chance to go to the movies. Cory & Carter went to see The Lego Movie & I brought Claire and Kate to see Frozen. I think this was Kate's first movie in the theater & she did a great job! She sat in her seat & just stared at the screen.  She has been watching videos online from the movie so she already knew the characters names & part of the plot.

Everyone enjoyed their movies & we had a great time!

Mesa, Arizona Temple

We stopped by the temple while we were in Mesa and walked around the beautiful grounds. The reflection pools are so pretty & the kids were real tempted to jump in since it was so warm out!!

We love to see the temple!

Mesa Cemetary

We went over to the Mesa Cemetery this morning to see Grandma & Grandpa Wallace's graves. We also drove by their old house, which looks so different. It's really run down & was sad to see.

We also drove by Mom & Dad's first house, but it's not there anymore. It's been torn down & another house has been built on the property. I did see the McDonalds that GrandpaWallace used to take us to when we were little.  

Saguaro National Park

As we were approaching Phoenix the other day, Claire asked if we could take a picture of a cactus so that she could show her friends at school. We had plans to go to Tucson today, so we went through Saguaro National Park on our way down. Holy cow, there were so many cacti!! All different kinds & sizes. It was really neat to see them all. Now we have MANY pictures that Claire can show her friends!
