Claire's Butterfly

Claire's pre-school class has a couple of stuffed animals that are sent home each day with different kids. Today Claire was given the butterfly to take home. It also came with a book about butterflies & a notebook where we are to write what she did with the butterfly while it was at home with her. She was so excited to bring it home. Today we went on a walk with the butterfly & she blew bubbles with it. Tonight when I tucked her in to bed she wanted the butterfly to help as well. When she goes back to school on Thursday she will share what she did with the butterfly. It's such a cute idea!!

Homemade Donuts

When we were at Six Flags a couple of weeks age we bought some mini donuts. Oh, they were so good. I've been thinking about them since then & remembered that my Mom used to make them for us when we were younger. It was always such a fun treat. Last week I bought some refrigerated biscuits & made some donuts for our family. The kids loved them, as did I. They brought back some good memories. They are so easy to make & quick too!

Carter was my little helper tonight; he sprinkled the donuts with cinnamon & sugar & powdered sugar.

Kate Is A Big Girl

Every day Kate is doing new things that proves to me that she is growing up so quickly. The past few days she has been climbing onto the chair at the kids little table. She usually will sit for a few minutes & then she climbs on top of the table....not so good.

TOO LOUD!!

Have I mentioned that Kate likes to scream & squeal really, really loud?

Yes, she does & it is ear-piercing!

Today I was feeding her lunch & she was screaming so loud. I covered my ears with my hands & said "too loud!" Then Kate copied me & covered her ears. It was so cute; she cracks me up!

Kate has her 4th tooth now. It's the top, left, central incisor. It looks as if 2 other teeth will be coming through on the top real soon.

We had a fun time celebrating Grayson's 7th birthday today. Kecia held his party at her parents house in Rescue. The kids had so much fun swimming & we enjoyed a delicious BBQ dinner.

Drew turned 6 years old today!

He invited Carter & I to go to Leatherby's with their family to get some delicious ice cream.

I had Paul's Royal Raspberry Fudge & it was so good! I love that place!

Happy Birthday Drewbie!

Kate Has Fun!!

Carter & Claire had so much fun pushing Kate in the little car. Kate loved it even more. Her expressions were priceless!! It's too bad that the handle on the car just broke. We are going to have to get another one of these!

What Is Kate Up To?

While I was doing laundry today I had a thought that I should go & see what Kate was up to. I walked back into the house & saw her standing on a chair at the kids computer desk. She was pretty proud of herself & she finally got was she was trying to reach for....the keyboard!

I find her on chairs & tables all the time now. She's turning into a little climber!

Claire's First Day of Pre-School

Today Claire started her first day of pre-school & she loved it!! She has been looking forward to this for quite some time. This morning we dropped Carter off at school & then headed over to her pre-school which is in Old Fair Oaks. She was excited to give her teacher the flowers in the pencil vase that we had made. Her class starts out on the playground, so I signed her in & then she went to play. She rode tricycles, bicycles, scooters, played in the sand, on the swings & slides. She was having such a fun time so I finally after about 15 minutes I asked her teacher if it was ok for us to leave. All of the other parents were still standing around but I didn't feel the need to stay any longer.

When I picked her up after school she said that she had a fun time. She made a bracelet, had snack & heard a story. I will be working in her class about 2 times each month. I am also the "Snack Coordinator" for the class, which means I had to assign the snack for each day of the year. I think Claire will have a great year!

Carter Starts 1st Grade

Today is Carter's first day of 1st grade!

We found out last week that his teacher is Mrs. Laret. She is in our ward & the mother-in-law of our good friend, so it's great that we already know her & know that she is an awesome teacher!

Last night Cory gave Carter & Claire a Father's Blessing for the new school year. A few minutes after Carter received his blessing he started crying. When we asked him what was wrong he said "I'm going to miss Mommy". Oh, what a way to break my heart! We told him about all of the fun things he will learn & he will get to see his friends & make new ones.

This morning we all got ready & I drove all the kids to Carter's school. Once inside his classroom we found his desk & he sat down. After a couple of minutes I could see tears welling up in his eyes & he started crying. He walked over to me & said he was going to miss me. I reassured him that everything would be fine & that I would see him after school. When I left him he was doing ok. There were a couple of kids from his class last year, but none of his good friends are in his class. Hopefully he will make some new ones quickly. I hope he has a fun day & a great school year!

Kate Turns 11 Months Old

Kate is 11 months old today. It's hard to believe that in a month she will be 1!!

This month she:

-started sleeping through the night (a couple of days after I posted last month about her waking up so much, she started sleeping through the night! Yeah!!)

-will stand on her own for a couple of seconds

-is eating more & more table food

-loves to be outside

-has started this screeching, ear piercing scream! Usually it's when we are in the car & it is not fun to listen to at all! We even changed her to a forward facing car seat the day we went to Six Flags & it seems to be worse now! We're hoping that it is short lived!

-loves to play with Carter & Claire. She especially loves when she sneaks into Carter's room to get into his Lego's.

still likes to lay on Daddy's shoulder

We love Kate so much & are so happy that she is part of our family!

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

I realized on Monday morning that our whole family could get into Six Flags for free any day this week. Cory & Carter still have their season passes & in their coupon books there were "Bring A Friend For Free" coupons that were valid this week. I told Cory about it & he checked with work & was able to get the day off. We had so much fun today. I am happy to say that I went on Medusa & Roar & had not problem!! I haven't been on any big roller coasters since I had kids so I didn't know how I would handle it. Oh man, they were so awesome!! I look forward to the next time that I can go on more roller coasters. Carter & Claire enjoyed a lot of their time in Toon Town. They went on a water ride with Daddy & loved it. Carter & Daddy went on Cobra; a roller coaster. There wasn't much that Kate could do. Most of the rides said that she had to be walking to be able to go on them. She did go on the carousel & loved it! She spent most of the day in her stroller & took a nice long nap in it as well. We went to the Killer whale show & saw Shouka. We also stopped to see the dolphins that were swimming in their tank. Kate was really excited to see them. It was a really fun day!!

Claire Visits Her Pre-school

This morning Claire was able to go visit her pre-school & meet her teacher Ms. Lindi.

She is going to the pre-school that is through Fair Oaks Park & Rec. It is a parent participation so I will have to work at the pre-school about 2 times per month.

She had such a fun time exploring the many different activities that they offer. Out on the playground she went on the swings & the slide & then she played in the "school house". She loved ringing the bell & checking for mail in the mailbox. She played house with a couple of kids while she was in there. When we went indoors she enjoyed painting, playing with play dough & going up into the fort (which is really cool!).

I think she is going to have a fun year!
