My Dad & I Are Cool!

Cory is heading out of town this week so he went yesterday morning to pick up a rental car. He came home with a convertible Mustang. It was the same price as the sedans so he thought, why not? Carter wanted to go for a ride with the top down this afternoon. Cory was showing his how it was done & Carter said "That's awesome!" He asked if they could listen to some loud music as they drove! He was so excited sitting in the back seat, he kept putting up 2 fingers & had a big grin on his face.

When they returned I asked Carter if they went super fast. He said "No, not too fast. We didn't want to freak any people out." I said "Like who, me?" He replied with "No, me." Such a funny kid! He loved the ride!

I have to admit, this blue, convertible Mustang is much better than the one we owned in Hawaii!

Sunday Morning.......

The Hoodie

I picked up a hoodie for Carter for really cheap after Christmas. I bought it big so that he could wear it next year. He saw it in his closet & really wanted to wear it last week. It's pretty big on him, but he doesn't care. He loves it. He put it on & said "This is awesome!! I'm going to wear it everyday!"

On Monday he wore it to pre-school & I watched him go into class & walk up to several of his classmates & just stand there with a smile on his face looking down at his sweatshirt. He was waiting for them to say something about it. It was the cutest thing ever!! He is so proud of that sweatshirt!

January FHE With Cousins

This evening we had our monthly Family Home Evening with the cousins. Lisa hosted this month & we learned about doing service for others. Each child got to decorate a jar to put their "warm fuzzys" in when they do an act of service for someone. The kids love being together & had fun playing. We enjoyed brownie sundaes for dessert! Yum!

Prior to going to Lisa's house, we went to Chick-fil-A for dinner. I love their chicken sandwiches!! We let the kids go in the play area after they ate. Claire needed help climbing up some of the structures so every once in a while I went in to help her. Carter & another little girl were trying to help her at one point & they couldn't get her up, so I went in to help. As I was leaving Carter said to the other girl: "That's my mom. She's awesome! My Dad likes to tickle me."

Awe, thanks Carter!! Man, I love that kid!!!

Train Museum (Again!) & Carriage Ride

Kristen called this morning to see if we wanted to go do something with their family. We decided to go to the Train Museum again, since Haley & Sydney haven't been. The plan was for both of our families to go, but by the time we were ready to leave it was Claire's nap time & I didn't think she would last the whole afternoon. Cory decided to stay home with her to let her sleep & Jeff decided to stay with Cory too. So it ended up being Carter & I and Kristen & her kids.

Of course the kids had fun exploring the museum & playing for over an hour upstairs at the Thomas tables.

When we were done in the museum we kept seeing horses pulling carriages throughout Old Sac. We've always talked about going & the kids really wanted to go. It was only $10 for all of us, so we split it & ended up paying $5.00 for a fun ride. Well worth it, to see the happy kids!!

We went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. YUM!! Jeff, Cory & Claire met us out in Elk Grove. I LOVE that place! We got there at 5pm & the place was packed!! I could not believe it! We were seated fairly quickly though & enjoyed some delicious food!!

Fun, fun day!!

We were in the car today listening to the radio and a song came on.

Carter yelled up to me:

"Mom, this is Taylor Swift."

I guess he listens to Taylor Swift with Haley & Sydney when he is at their house.

Little Mama

Claire is such a good little mommy to her doll. She fed her breakfast this morning.

Mall Walkers

It's been a rainy week here & Kathy & I have missed walking in the morning. This morning we decided to head to the mall & be "Mall Walkers"!! We dropped Carter & Kaylee off at pre-school and headed to the mall with Claire & Lauren. There were quite a few people there, I was surprised! We walked the perimeter of the mall 5 or 6 times & then we let the girls play at the play area. They had a lot of fun on the dragonfly & sliding down the worm. It was really nice to get our walk in, even with the down pouring rain outside!

Field Trip To Bel Air

This morning Carter's pre-school class went on a field trip to Bel Air.

It didn't start out very well. For some reason Carter was being very clingy & would not let go of my leg. He would not go with the kids in his class to participate. I told him that we would just go home if he wouldn't go with his class. I finally got him to go with Miss Peggy once they were in the room where they keep the produce cold. After that he was fine & when it was all over he said he had so much fun!! They went to the butcher & saw crabs, which he said looked goopy inside & he said he would never eat them. They went to the bakery & saw a cake being decorated & they got to try the frosting. I'm so glad it ended being fun for him!

Train Museum

This morning we invited Kristen & Drew to go to the train museum with us. Drew had never been & Carter was so excited to show him around. Drew became a Caboose Club Member & the boys thought that was so cool!! Hopefully we can plan another trip together & this summer the boys can ride the train for FREE!!

There is so much to see & do, we could easily spend the whole day there!!

Claire loves to climb up on the kitchen table & take all of the fruit out of the bowl & count it.

She does really well counting to 10.

While John was here visiting for New Years he took some pictures of the kids when we went to the park. He always takes such great pictures, I had to post most of them!!

Claire is such a dog lover. She has no problem going up to any dog to pet them & give them hugs.

And no, we will not be getting a dog!!

January.....One Long Winter Month

I am not a fan of January.

I hate this cold, long, winter month.

I am ready for the sunshine & warmer weather.

We needed something to do this morning to take away the winter blues & we came up with the perfect idea: Hullabaloo!!!

We had fun spinning, crawling & stomping our way around the living room.

Now January, hurry up & be over!! (Is it really only the 12th??)

Claire & Lauren

Claire & Lauren have been having fun this past week while Kathy & I are walking in the mornings. Wayne is still off from work so he has been watching the kids for us. It's been nice to walk a little faster & get done quicker!!

This morning Lauren was showing us her "big girl bed" & both of the girls hopped up onto it & layed down together. I asked them to close their eyes & they both put their fingers up to their eyes to close them!

The "Mad" Face

Claire is really good at making facial expressions. Recently, she has learned how to make a mad face & she is really good at it. Cory asked me the other day to try & capture her mad face on camera. I asked her to do it & she would for just a second & then she would bust up laughing. This is the best I could get!!

Lincoln Logs

Carter loves to build with Lincoln Logs. Grandma & Grandpa Wozniak got him a new set for Christmas. Today we had fun building a fort together!
