S'more Fun!

We were going to surprise the kids with a backyard camp out on Friday night, complete with s'mores, but then Lisa invited us to go up to Tahoe. We gave the kids a choice...camping or Tahoe! I bet you can guess what they chose! We decided to still do the s'mores so when we arrived home this evening Cory got a fire going & the kids were excited to roast marshmallows and make s'mores!

Sand Harbor Beach

We decided to try out Sand Harbor beach today. I've heard lots of good things about it so we were excited to see what it was like. Unfortunately it is a holiday weekend & we knew it would be quite busy. We didn't make it there until just before 11am & the parking lot was full. Luckily there is a shuttle that will drop you off at the beach & it's at the end of Lisa's street, so that's what we did.

Once we arrived we found a little cove area & some shade & set up our chairs. The kids went straight out to the water and started playing. The sand was very soft & the water was shallow for at least 50 feet before it turned into a beautiful turquoise color.

We spent about 3 hours there with the kids building sand castles & making Brittney into a mermaid. 

It was a beautiful & relaxing day.

Condo Fun

Lisa called on Thursday evening & asked if we wanted to join them at their condo for the weekend. We had promised the kids that they could have a camp out in the backyard, but they we happy to change plans & head to Tahoe for the weekend.
We left on Friday after school & made it to Tahoe by dinner time. The kids played lots of games and Claire especially loved being with Rusty!! They also spent a lot of time in the "backyard" enjoying the beautiful weather.
Todd brought up some slabs of granite for their fireplace, so Cory was able to help him cut them & carry them up the 2 flights of stairs.

Evening At The Beach

The kids really wanted to go to the beach today, but by the time we got back from Reno and then had dinner it was getting to be late in the evening. We decided to try & go to the private beach that Lisa's family can go to. We got there at 7:25pm & the guard said that she would let our family go since she was closing up the guard station in 5 minutes! The kids played in the sand & got a little wet. Once the sun started going down it got very chilly out by the water. By 8:00 the sun was just about gone & we couldn't see anything! We packed up and headed back to the warm house.

Rib Fest

We went to Rib Fest in Reno today. Award winning companies were there with different types of ribs to try. It was very delicious! The kids all loved trying them (even Kate....she just didn't want her picture taken!). Claire wanted to try deep fried cat fish, which she loved too! It was hot outside on the blacktop & not much shade, plus there wasn't a lot of places to sit, but other than that it was a fun time!

Cub Scout Olympics

We had another fun & exciting time at the Cub Scout Olympics this year. Favorites were box hockey, nerf gun shooting, skateboarding & ladders. The kids always look forward to this night.

Soccer Seeding Tournament

Carter & Claire both had their seeding tournament today, but unfortunately they were at different fields. Carter started at 8:30am at Dewey & he had 5 games to play. They would finish around 1:45pm. Claire was playing at Phoenix Field at 11:30am and had 3 games to play. Cory took Carter to his tournament & the girls & I were able to make it to his 10:10am game where he scored the only goal & their team won!!! They actually won all 5 games today!!

Claire's team won all of their games as well! It was fun to spend the day with friends! 

After the tournament Claire invited her friend Mayzie to come over & swim. They had a great time together. 

We don't have a game Labor Day weekend, but after that every Saturday will be soccer games until Thanksgiving!

Tooth #3 For Claire

The tooth fairy is busy around these parts! I just pulled Claire's third tooth out!

Harry Potter #3

Carter finished Harry Potter book 3 today & is now excited to watch the movie. He already got book 4 down to start reading tonight!

Tooth #9 For Carter

Carter lost his ninth tooth today.....and I pulled it out!!

Mommy's Helper

Kate came into the kitchen this evening pushing her little princess cart. She wanted to help me bake, so she loaded all of the ingredients we needed to make unbaked oatmeal fudge & then she helped me make them. Her poses crack me up!!
