Carter's Piano Recital

Carter did a fabulous job at his piano recital this evening. Aileen gave him 2 pieces that were pretty difficult & she was so proud of him for learning them. He played "The Entertainer" on the piano and Canon in G by Pachelbel on the harpsichord. We were extremely proud of him for practicing hard these last few weeks at home.
Thank you to Grandma Wallace, Tom, Marci, Jack & Phillip for coming to watch him perform.

He, along with 7 other classmates were invited to have a pizza lunch to honor & celebrate all they achieved  in reading this year. Carter was so excited to have earned it & he had a great time!

Memorial Day

Cory spent the morning cleaning up the front of the house. Removing cobwebs, trimming bushes & cleaning out the gutters. Carter went with his friend to their racquet club to go swimming & the girls played out front. The broom & rake were their horses & they galloped around the yard.
After lunch the girls swam & then we headed over to moms for our Memorial Day BBQ & more swimming. The kids swam for quite a while & the adults played some games. We didn't get home until almost 10pm... on a school night!!! Yikes!!

Kate's First Talk

Kate gave her first talk in Primary today. She spoke clearly & did a great job!!
"How do we know what Heavenly Father would say to us if He were here? God speaks through a prophet today just as He has done in the past. Our prophet- President Thomas S. Monson- teaches us what Heavenly Father wants us to know and do and become. We are blessed when we listen to and follow the prophet. President Monson's directions help us become more like Jesus Christ. Here are some things you can know from what President Monson has said. "

Swim Party With Friends

Jared & Caroline Beal invited us & some other friends & family to dinner & swimming. They live in a neighborhood with a community pool & clubhouse so there was a big pool & spa & the clubhouse held all of the food. They brought Costa Vida & Little Cesars pizza & we brought side dishes & desserts. We had so much fun & the kids swam for hours! It's always fun to get together with friends.

Visiting Grandpa

On our way home from the Jelly Belly Factory we stopped by the Cemetary to leave a patriotic pin wheel at Dad's grave site. Cory, Carter & Claire have not been back since Dad's funeral, so it was nice for them to be able to go back.

Jelly Belly Factory

The kids had the day off from school (4 day weekend!) so we decided to go down to the Jelly Belly Factory. Our friends, the Niupalau's came down with us. When we were about 1/2 way there I happened to turn around & find that Kate had no shoes on. There are usually at least 2 pairs in the car at all times, but today there were none! We had to stop in Fairfield at Target & buy her some new sandals.
We finally got to the factory & Cory got in line for the tour. I walked around the store with the kids & we tried samples of chocolate covered bacon & different flavors of jelly bellys. Carter tried "grass clippings, skunk spray & buggers." Gross!! He didn't like them & ended up spitting them out!
It was a fun day & the kids enjoyed learning about how jelly bellys are made.

Fun At Fairtytale Town

Kate & I went with Beth, Zella & Parker to Fairytale Town today. I don't think Kate has ever been, if she has it was when she was very little. She had so much fun!! They all loved the slides, the crooked mile & watering plants in the garden. I love bringing the kids here- so may fun memories.
Kate was standing on the bridge at the castle & I remember seeing a picture where my Grandma, Dad, Bob, Heather & Lisa were standing at the same spot on the bridge. It was fun to find that picture & compare the two!
Carter & Claire were bummed when they found out that we went, so I told them that we could go during the summer.

Play date for Kate

My friend Jen was going out of town & needed help watching her daughter Ava. I told her that we could watch her & Kate loved having her over. I was also watching Hayden, so the 3 of them played together. We played lots of games, had lunch & then we drove her to preschool. Kate will be going to preschool with her next year which will be really fun
